Tiling is the best pool surface available on the current market. Each different pool surface requires the water to be chemically balanced according to its own set of very specific target values. Balancing the water to the correct levels in tiled pools is extremely important, as it prevents a number of surface issues arising. The most common problems associated with tiled pools include:
• Grout Deterioration in which the grouting between the tiles breaks down.
• Algae Growth lodges itself inside the grout in this type of pool as it is unable to attach itself to the tiles themselves. This often looks like a thick coloured slime.
• Scum Lines occur in all surface pools, however, they are more visible on tiles.
